It is our pleasure to announce that we introduced a new product to our extensive marine chemicals product line: This new product is our Barrier Coating, a harmless product used to create a film between the cargo and cargo wall, after cleaning products or acids have been used to clean the cargo hold. The products used to clean the cargo hold are Hydrochloric acid, Cement Remover Tank Clean Alkaline, Tank Clean Alkaline Extra, Rust Remover etc. The Barrier Coating is to prepare, protect and preserve the cargo hold from staining, contamination and corrosion, all with a single product. Whether the cargo is carrying cement powder, coal/pet coke, fertilizers, grains, feedstock, salt/sulfur, or iron ore fines, no longer excessive time and money has to be spent to clean and prepare between shipments.
When removing the cargo from the cargo hold, the cargo scale should be very thin or nonexistent if Barrier Coating has been used. It is a thin protective film, creating a virtually non-stick surface. Using Barrier Coating is ideal for reducing cost because you don’t need to use huge quantities of chemicals for the cargo hold cleaning after discharging the cargo.
Barrier Coating is a protective coating that has been successfully field tested and proven to work on the deck and cargo holds of bulk carrier vessels. The product is non-toxic, non-oxidizing, non-corrosive and non-flammable. It is safe to use on all metal surfaces and metal alloys. It has no effect on rubber, plastic compounds and coatings.
At this moment the product is in high demand with ship owners who operate bulk carrier vessels. Due to the downturn in shipping and the costs that are under pressure, most ship-owners are no longer very demanding in what kind of bulk they are carrying. The current global market situation has actually created a need for this product (reduces turnaround times) and we can start servicing our clients from now on, at their requests.
