Dry Coat
Dry Coat is a paste-like one component, surface tolerant coating based on bitumen and chloroprene rubber. After drying, the coating becomes a waterproof and elastic membrane absorbing steel expansion and contraction without difficulty. It can be applied by airless spraying on rusted surfaces and requires no sandblasting prior to application. Can be applied on both dry and damp tank surfaces and contains no solvents. The coating is resistant to a number of acids and alkalis and to temperatures between -30°C and +130°C.
Dry Coat is particularly recommended for coating of permanent ballast tanks in new buildings or in existing ships for re-coating of tanks over rust and old deteriorated coatings without surface pretreatment by sandblasting. It is also recommended for floating decks, void spaces, cofferdams, offshore leg support tanks, etc.
