Vecoating
Vecoating rust preventative is a highly effective, unique ballast tank corrosion inhibitor. Vecoating utilizes the same basic technology as Tankcoating rust preventative but provides 2-1/2 times the service life. Vecoating is formulated from an inorganic-organic complex which forms a platelet like crystalline structure similar to overlapping "fish scales". The "fish scale" platelets are polar in nature and form a dense, adherent protective layer which provides an effective barrier against air and moisture. Tests have shown that Vecoating rust preventative has outstanding rust-retarding qualities - more than double that of Tankcoating rust preventative.
Vecoating rust preventative has many shipboard applications besides the protection of ballast water tanks. In addition to deep sea vessels, it also can be used by dry docks, barges, ferries, offshore rigs and platforms, virtually any marine equipment where protection from corrosion is critical. It can also be used in cofferdams, fore and after peak spaces, double bottoms, chain lockers, rudder interiors, and other void spaces.
